Important Update: OnMail Will Shut Down on July 31 - Thank You for Being Part of Our Story
Dear OnMail Community,
It is with a heavy heart that we inform our OnMail community of creators, small business owners and entrepreneurs that our journey together is coming to an end. Despite our best efforts to navigate the ever-changing and challenging business environment, we were unable to find product market fit for the OnMail email service and have made the difficult decision to discontinue its services on July 31st 2025.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to you our incredible community. Your support, feedback, and passion for finding a better way to manage your email inboxes have been a driving force behind everything we've done. Together, we created something truly special, and we will always cherish the jourmey we shared.
I'd also like to express immense gratitude to the OnMail team. Building a fresh approach to email, one of the most widely used communication tools, was an ambitious task for a small team up against some of the biggest players in the tech world. The dedication, hard work, and sacrifices made by the team led to industry recognition, app store features, and coverage by major publishers achievements that would not have been possible without their unwavering commitment.
I am deeply proud of the experience we built together, and I truly believe that the OnMail story will leave a lasting impact on how people think about email in the future.
Next Steps
For current customers, we want to ensure a smooth transition. You will be able to export your data and transfer custom email domains up until July 31st, 2025. We encourage you to begin migrating your data and domain assets as soon as possible to avoid any disruption.

关于 OnMail
OnMail 是电子邮件客户端软件开发商 Edison Mail 在 2020 年夏季推出的一项个人邮件服务, 支持绑定域名. 同时也为企业客户提供业务邮件托管. 当时预告新产品之时, 也有知名的海外科技媒体报道了 OnMail, 比如:

Edison Mail 给 OnMail 设计了一个基于请求许可的收件箱, 当发件人首次到达 OnMail 用户的收件箱的时候会被拆分到一个独立的邮件信息流中, 只有当用户点击了 "接受联系", 这个发件人之后的邮件才会到达主收件箱. 除了这个独特的许可权限优先的收件箱规则, 还有很多对邮件的现代化设计, 比如就借鉴了 Gmail 的标签功能. 除了默认的许可模型收件箱还允许用户创建规则去拆分邮件信息流到另一个独立视图中.
但是, 产品在市场中的表现似乎不符合 Edison Mail 的预期, 之前几乎每周都会发送一封产品消息给用户的 Jeff, 最后一条消息也停在笔者收件箱中的 2022 年 12 月 16 日. 这期间 Onmail 还关闭了新用户注册, 产品更新也逐渐停滞, 整个产品基本上只经历了一年多的有效更新, 之后的日子里基本都是在维持运营状态.
